Englewood Sunday Follow Up Email
Hello everyone! I shared that today was a special offering for the region's Reconciliation Fund that helps to fund important anti-racism trainings and grants to local churches to engage in critical justice-related work. I shared that we used our reconciliation grant this year to create bilingual signage in our building and update our library titles.
I let everyone know that if they felt led to support this fund, they could do so by placing a special gift in the offering basket this week or next week. You can also give to this special offering online using this direct link.
In addition to this conversation, we also unpackaged the concept of reconciliation today during our weekly worship service using wisdom from the book Radical Reconciliation by Allan Aubrey Boesak and Curtiss Paul DeYoung.
If you were not able to join us in person this week for this important conversation, you can watch the recorded service using the links below:
Announcements
1. This evening at 7 PM, the Yakima Valley Big Band will be playing a free jazz concert in honor of Ronnie Grey. All are welcome to attend.
2. Next Sunday will be our Vision Sunday service. This is our once-a-year service, where I will share updates with us on the long- and short-term goals we have been working on, and share the vision for ministry goals for the upcoming new year, as well as how you can be involved. I encourage you to try to join us for this important conversation next week, either in person or online.
3. Please mark your calendars for Saturday, October 11th- we will be having our monthly breakfast that morning at 8 AM, and then immediately following, we will be having an outdoor work day to plant our first xeriscaping garden area on our property to help us reduce our irrigation needs. This project is part of our efforts to become a greener, more environmentally aware congregation.

Joys and Concerns
We have several families who have lost loved ones recently. Please be thinking about Nancy Thompson and Judy Markham this week as they grieve.
Please be thinking about Ronnie Grey this week as he moves to a new longterm living arrangement in Kennewick. If you would like Ronnie's new address to send him a card, please email me and I will send it to you.
Continue to hold David and Kathy Helseth in your prayers as Kathy continues to undergo cancer treatments. We are taking a short break from meal sign ups for them and will let you know when we restart this practical way to love and support the Helseth's.
We have several individuals who have been dealing with illness and sickness recently. Please be thinking about them. Also, remember that as we navigate this cold/flu/COVID season, if you are not feeling well, you can engage with service live on either our Facebook page or YouTube channel.
Please be praying for Alex Maldonado and Xiomara Cintron-Garcia, the missionaries with Global Ministries who were here at Englewood on Saturday, sharing about their work in Colombia.
Upcoming Events to Connect
As always, if you need anything this week or there is any way that I can support you- please reach out to me.
