Englewood will be participating in the MLK march. Those who would like to march with our group can sign up by clicking here. An email will be sent out to those signed up with details about where we will meet and organize.

Sunday, January 19th we will have poster boards and markers in the Fellowship Hall during coffee hour so that marchers can make signs for this event.

On the third Tuesday of each month we serve a meal at Camp Hope for our unsheltered neighbors. You can get involved in helping to bring ingredients for this meal, helping to prepare food, and/or serve the meal at 5:30 at Camp Hope. Contact the Church office for more information.

Our Pastor Rev. Dr. Christie Love completed her Doctoral Work at Eden Theological Seminary where she focused her study on religious trauma. She has a deep passion for supporting those who have had negative religious experiences and has experience in creating resources and programs that support processing and growing from these unique traumas.

The goal of this group is to provide support and cultivate an empathic and understanding environment focused on healing. Anyone in the Yakima Valley who has been harmed by faith-based systems, relationships, teachings, or experiences is welcome to join us.

Documentary and Discussion

As part of our Wide Welcome Initiative, we work to create opportunities for learning and growth each month in areas related to justice, inclusion, and care for our neighbors. In 2026, we will be focusing our learning on the history and harms of religion on our indigenous neighbors. 

In January and February, there will be a documentary suggested for those who would like to view it on their own time, and then a Zoom meeting will be held to discuss our thoughts and feelings about the subject of the film. 


In January, we will be watching and discussing: Episode one of the Ken Burns documentary series The West. Which can be viewed on PBS.org this discussion will take place via Zoom on Wednesday, January 28, at 6:30 PM

In February, we will watch and discuss episode 5 of the same series. Our Zoom discussion that month will take place on Wednesday, February 25th, at 6:30 PM.

Second Sunday Concert Series

The Second Sunday Series will present Dr. David McLemore on tuba and Dr. Giyong Ahn on piano on January 11, 2026, at 2:00 pm. McLemore and Ahm are colleagues at Central Washington University where Dr Ahn is a Lecturer of piano and Dr. McLemore is the Professor of Tuba and Euphonium.  Dr. McLemore appeared on the series a few years ago and it was fun to hear a tuba concert.  If you love brass instruments, this concert is for you.
