June Outdoor Movie Night
Join us as we watch Rookie of the Year outside on the back lawn by the playground on our property. Bring a lawn chair or blanket. We will have popcorn available. All are welcome.

ECC @ Yakima Pride
Englewood will be participating in the Yakima Pride Parade and have a booth at the all day celebration. If you are interested in being a part of the group that will represent us that day, email Christie.


Young Adult Gathering
We will be having another outdoor yard games night in the back of the church by the playground. There will be croquet, ladder ball, Texas horseshoes, corn hole, and more! RSVP for this event by emailing Christie.

Scholl’s Cabin Retreat
Larry and Becky Scholl have a tradition of opening their lake cabin to the Englewood community for a day of fun and outdoor connecting. If you are interested in being a part of this event, please listen for updates, sign ups, and directions as the date draws closer.

Summer Work Day at ECC

Congregational Meeting
This meeting will take place immediately following our weekly worship service. We will be voting to approve our proposed Welcome Statement as the official welcome statement for our faith community. We will also be sharing some building updates.

Cooperative Youth Group Activity
We are partnering with other progressive faith communities to create a safe space for teens to connect and build positive systems of support. You can learn more about this group by clicking here.

VolunTeens April Activity
In April VolunTeens will meet be participating in a Habitat for Humanity build. You must register for this work day so that we can assign you to a team and site. If you would like to participate, please email christie@englewoodchristianchurch.com


Game Day
Join us after service on Sunday, March 30th for an afternoon of board games, fun, and getting to know others better.
Bring your favorite game and a light snack to share.
Pizza will be provided (Donations of $3 per person suggested but not required).

First Sunday Potluck

NAMI Faith and Trauma Workshop
This event will offer learning sessions on Religious Trauma and Trauma-Informed Crisis Training. After each learning session, there will be breakout discussion groups. One breakout group will be for faith leaders and the other for mental health professionals and social workers.
We will also be offering a catered lunch with a panel discussion during lunch on the importance of the relationship between the faith community and the mental health community.
Presenters will include:
Rev. Dr. Christie Love, the new Senior Minister at Englewood Christian Church. Christie and her family relocated to Yakima from Springfield, MO in August where she planted and led a church/community outreach organization called The Connecting Grounds. She has a Doctorate in Ministry from Eden Theological Seminary where she specialized in the study of Religious Trauma. She is also the founder of the non-profit The Flipped Table Collective which offers resources, learning opportunities, and training to faith leaders around the nation.
David Guyer, is orginally from the Yakima Valley, he settled here in my hometown to develop his practice and build my family. His academic studies broadly include psychology, sociology, and social work, culminating in completion my Doctorate of Social Work in 2022. From crisis work, to inpatient, and outpatient mental health treatment; David has spent a decade developing as a social worker in Washington State. The last 3 years has included helping the next generation of social work students prepare for their careers, and recently started a role as clinical assistant professor at Washington State University.
In addition, there will be more than 30 resource tables with local, regional, and national resources to explore and engage with throughout the day.
While this is a free event, seating is limited to 150 participants so registration is required!

National Faith + Climate Forum 2025
We are thrilled to announce that Englewood is partnering with Wesley United Methodist Church to host a livestream of the upcoming National Faith + Climate Forum 2025 on March 27. This pivotal event is a call to all who are passionate about intertwining faith with actionable climate stewardship.
This year's forum, themed "Seven Acts of Faith for Building Thriving Congregations," offers an opportunity for us to explore impactful ways to integrate environmental stewardship and social justice into our faith practices. From innovative workshops to inspiring talks, each segment is designed to empower and uplift.
Whether you've participated in the past or are new to climate action, your presence will contribute to a collective effort to foster a sustainable and just future for all. Let's come together to learn, inspire, and act!

Second Sunday Concert Series
Sunday, March 16, at 2:00pm the Second Sunday Series will present Bobby Collins on the French Horn with pianist Cassie Fry at Englewood Christian Church. Note that the program is not on the second Sunday, but rather the third Sunday.
In addition to playing the French Horn, Bobby is the assistant conductor of the Yakima Symphony Orchestra. He received his bachelor’s in music from Central Washington University, having studied with Jeffrey Snedeker and received his master’s in conducting from Bowling Green University in Ohio. Cassie, a graduate of Oregon State University with a degree in piano performance, has been accompanying vocal and instrumental soloist for the past 15 years. Their program will be highlighting compositions from underrepresented communities such as women and Black composers. VolunTeens March Activity
In March, VolunTeens will be working at the Arboretum to help prepare the grounds for spring. We will be doing small tasks as a group beside other service groups that day.
