8-24-25 Announcements
Hello everyone! There was a lot of energy and many new faces at our weekly worship service today. We started a four-week focus on better understanding the words in the Disciples' Mission Statement: We are a movement for peace in a fragmented world. Today we explored what it means to be a movement, and we got to celebrate a baptism at the end of the service.
If you were not able to join us in person this week for our worship service, you can watch the recorded service using the links below:
Announcements
1. You will notice this week if you are at the building that we are completing several planned improvements in the Fellowship Hall to prepare for the UU church to move in to use that space for their Sunday morning services. We have hung curtains and are almost done with the storage closets that are being built on the Fellowship Hall Stage.
A big thank you to Bob Love for his hard work and late nights this week. If anyone is interested in helping Bob finish these projects (and a few others), connect with him for more details.
2. Speaking of Bob... now that our new sound is installed and working better in person and online, we are ready to start building a Tech Team. If you are interested in learning how to run both our sound and our online video stream, connect with Bob so that we can schedule a training in September. Our hope is to have 4-5 people so that each person would serve once every 4-5 weeks.
3. Also, to prepare for the UU church's move-in, Kathy and Sandi will be leading a kitchen organization day on Saturday, September 6th. Connect with them if you are interested in helping with this project.
4. Our new Connection Groups (Formerly Known as Clusters) will begin in September! This week, you will be getting an email from me with information about what your group will be doing in September and how to get involved. Be watching for that message. The list of who is in what groups in posted on the office window at church, and it was listed in this month's newsletter, which you can view by clicking here.
5. Jody Gentemann, the daughter of Gloria McGlothlen, asked me to share that her mother passed away last Saturday, August 16th. As many of you know, Gloria was very involved in the Yakima community through her volunteer work with many organizations. Her service will be held here at Englewood on Saturday, September 6th, at 2 PM.
