Today was the first Sunday in September, which meant a new theme to explore and the start of our new Connection Groups!!!!
This month, we will be talking about justice, and we began that conversation today by exploring part of the Holiness Code in Leviticus 19.

Next week, we will be talking about Justice as it relates to immigration. Following coffee hour, we will be hosting this month's Documentary and Discussion in the Sanctuary at 1:00 PM.
Announcements
Today was the first Sunday of our new Connection Group rotations. Each of our three groups hosted a gathering today during our monthly potluck so that everyone could get to know one another and the groups could begin to plan activities for the next year.

This Wednesday, Doyle Hardy's class on the Gospel of John will get started in the Fireside Room at 10:00 a.m. He plans for this study to take 15 sessions, but will move at the pace of the group to allow plenty of time for discussion.
Purchasing a study book is not necessary; Doyle plans to have study guides for each session. However, if you choose to purchase a book to supplement the class, he suggests: The People’s Commentary of the New Testament by M. Eugene Boring and Fred B. Craddock. This readable yet scholarly commentary covers the entire New Testament and can be purchased from a number of sources, including Amazon. The price varies wildly - so look at several sources. Finch Family Concerts Return
The 2025-2026 season of the Sunday Concert Series will begin September 20th at 2:00 pm with the winners of the Seattle Ladies Music Club Frances Walton competition. You won’t want to miss these outstanding winners who are Colin Crake on saxophone and Sunmin Kim on piano.
Colin, based in Boulder, CO, is a multi-award-winning soloist who promotes the saxophone as an instrument worth serious consideration in classical music. He received his doctorate from Eastman School of Music.
In 2019, Sunmin Kim, who is from South Korea, moved to Boston to study at the New England Conservatory of Music. He received his master’s degree from Juilliard School of Music and is presently attending the Southern Methodist University Meadows School of the Arts in Dallas as an Artist Diploma student.
Let’s give these talented young performers a warm Englewood Christian Church welcome as they set off on their week-long tour of Eastern Washington, where they will be presenting concerts in the schools to students throughout our region.
