10-19-25 Announcements

Hello everyone!

Today, during our weekly worship service, our conversation focused on being Mission Minded.

Herb and Tom (Herbal T) sang the Washington State song for special music today, and we shared the results of our community mapping project. Using those results, we talked about how we can embody the call of Matthew 25 in our community to meet the needs of our neighbors.

If you were not able to join us in person this week for our worship service, you can watch the recorded service below:

During service, I talked about a survey that we are doing to identify specific interests, skills, and talents that we have to help us love out loud in our community. Please take a few moments this week to complete this short survey so that we can help connect you to upcoming service projects and ministry opportunities!

Thank Yous

We sent out some appreciation this morning to several people who have helped to make some improvements in our space this week:

1. Nick Schultz who built some beautiful new storage shelves in the cubby next to the Fireside Room. This has organized our supplies for our prayer shawl ministry and has completed shawls stored in the baskets on the shelves.

Also, thank you to Jim Harwood and Jim Prokop for spreading our mulch in the xeriscape garden on Saturday afternoon!

This Weekend in Pictures

We had a full weekend of events and connections here at Englewood!

On Friday we held our 1st Annual Chili Cook-off and Dessert Auction and today after service our Young Adults went to Thompson Farms and then several of us are gathered at the church to cheer on the Mariners tonight!

We shared some pictures from all of these connections on our Facebook Page this evening. You can click on the button below to see this post.

Reminder that our 2026 pledge campaign is ongoing. We are asking that you bring your pledge cards back by next Sunday so that our team can begin to make ministry plans for next year. If you have questions about our goals, please connect with Christie.

I shared today that my son is having surgery on Tuesday. Due to this, I will be working from home for the next couple of weeks. If you need anything at all, I am still available by phone or email. I thank you in advance for your support and understanding during this time!

We have restarted the meal train for David and Kathy Helseth. This time, they have extended the invitation for people to stay and eat dinner with them if they would like. You can sign up to drop off a meal or stay and eat with David and Kathy using the blue button below.

Joys and Concerns

Please continue to hold Kathy Helseth in your heart as she is continuing her cancer treatments right now.

Ronnie Grey had his second surgery in Seattle, and it went well. He is now recovering in a rehab center on the Westside.

Please be thinking of Bryson Stuehmer as he undergoes an extensive knee operation on Tuesday morning.

Please continue to hold those who have been impacted directly by the government shutdown in our area in your hearts. Especially as the threat of food stamp benefits not being paid in November is very real for many individuals and families who depend on these funds for food security.

Connection Group Schedule for October

Group 1: Will have a group activity

Group 2: Will Host Coffee Hour

Group 3: Make the Camp Hope Meal

Group 4: Will make Sandwiches before service

If you are not sure what group you are in click here. If you are not in a group and would like to be added, please email me and I will get you added to a group.

Upcoming Events to Connect

As always, if you need anything this week or there is any way that I can support you- please reach out to me.

Blessings,

Christie
