Update on Supporting our Neighbors
The last few weeks we had found some ways to try to fill gaps in our community while many of our neighbors experienced a delay in their monthly food stamp fund distrbution.
We moved our food drive collection efforts from once a month to every week to support our local food banks.
We also converted our little library in front of our building into a pantry with ready to eat food items.
SNAP Funds have now been paid in full for our neighbors and federal funds have been secured through at least September 2026.
Since these funds have been secured at this time, we will resume our monthly food drive collection in December and will return our little library back to stocking free books for our neighbors.
Thank you to all who gave during this time of high need in our community, we are grateful for the ways that you loved out loud when it was needed most!
We will begin collecting coats for the Yakima School District this coming Sunday through Christmas Eve. New or gently used kids' coats, sizes 5-14, are needed for boys and girls. There will be a table set up outside the office next week for your donations.
