7-27-25 Announcements
Hello everyone! It was great to be back with you yesterday after a week off!
We continued our Critical Conversation Summer series during our weekly worship. I was honored to be joined by my good friend Holly Madden yesterday for a conversation about friendship!
If you were not able to join us in person this week for our worship service, you can watch the recorded service using the links below:
Our Englewood Climbs Event
1. We had a great time yesterday after church at the High Steppe Climbing Center for our event! We had eleven climbers and several of us cheering them on that spent a very fun afternoon together.
Announcements
1. Reminder that every Tuesday at 9 AM we gather at the Peace Pole in front of our building to pray for peace, unity, and healing in our world. If you are not able to join us for this time of prayer in person- I invite you to set an alarm and pause for prayer/meditation from wherever you are at that time.
2. Next Sunday is our monthly potluck after service, so plan to bring a dish to share and stay to enjoy food and friendship! If you are newer to Englewood and would like to know more about who we are, what we believe, and ways to get involved you can make your plate at the potluck and then join me to eat in the Fireside Room for lunch for this discussion.
3. Make sure that your calendars are marked for Saturday, August 9th for our Englewood Lake Retreat Day. Larry and Becky Scholl graciously open their lake home each year for a day of relaxation, nature, and fun. You can RSVP that you plan to attend either at the Welcome Desk in the Narthex or by clicking this link. Driving directions and details will be sent out in an email in early August to those who are registered.
4. Interested in volunteering with Kid's Connection? Karissa is hosting an online training this week for you to learn more about this chance to be a part of the team of teachers and volunteers that create a special experience for our kid's each Sunday. You can learn more by connecting with Karissa by email or calling the church office.
New Connection Groups
Yesterday during our panel conversation, I shared about a new way that we will be connecting and serving at Englewood.
In the past, we have had three Clusters that rotated monthly to share the responsibility for hospitality events. During their month, the designated cluster would; provide snacks for our coffee time after service and plan the monthly meal for Camp Hope.
Starting in September we are changing the name from Clusters to Connection Groups. There will be four Connection Groups who will rotate different tasks each month. In September:
Connection Group 1 will provide snacks for coffee time.
Connection Group 2 will plan, make, and serve the monthly meal at Camp Hope.
Connection Group 3 will help each week on Sunday before service to make sandwiches for Camp Hope.
Connection Group 4 will plan an activity to give members a chance to connect and get to know each other better.
These roles will rotate each month.
I will post the new Connection Group Lists in the Fellowship Hall during our potluck!
