2/8/26 Announcements
Today at Englewood, we continued our February worship theme of Exploring Grief.
It was a hard day today as we began to process our personal grief over the loss of our beloved Kathy Helseth.
I was grateful for Jeff Davis and Doyle Hardy, who joined me in conversation today as we talked together about how grief is not cookie-cutter, linear, or predictable.

Kathy Helseth
Kathy passed away in her home, surrounded by those that she loved, on Saturday at 3 AM. Her final days were spent surrounded by love, laughter, music, family, and friends.
While we are sad to say goodbye on this side of eternity, we are glad that Kathy's physical suffering is over. We, as an Englewood faith community, will be surrounding David with love and supporting him as he travels this new road. We will be sharing ways to support David and his family in the days and weeks to come.
We will gather to honor Kathy's life and legacy on Saturday, February 21st at 2 PM here at Englewood. We invite you to join us in person if you are able. We will also be providing a livestream of the service on our YouTube channel that day as well.
This Week's Announcements
Today, after service, our landscaping planning team met in the library to talk about 2026 projects. If you were not able to join us and are interested in being a part of this team, please let me know, and I can catch you up!
Anyone who is interested can come to watch the Super Bowl at 3 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Bring a snack to share and come cheer on the Seahawks!
This coming Wednesday is the monthly NAMI FaithNet meeting that I lead at 11:30 AM in the Fireside Room. This month’s topic will be on our worship topic for this month: Grief.
Thursday evening this week, is our ECC Book Club’s Zoom discussion of the book The Separation of Church and Hate. If you would like to participate, please let me know, and I will send you the Zoom link.
Next Sunday (which is the 3rd Sunday) will be the Finch Family’s monthly concert here at the church at 2 PM instead of the normal Second Sunday date. It will also be on the 3rd Sunday next month in March as well. You can learn more about this month's upcoming concert by clicking here.
Sound Issues
We are aware of our ongoing sound issues with our online service stream. We want to assure you that Bob Love, Tom Gaulke, and others are working very hard to resolve these issues! We are very sorry and hope to have all issues resolved very soon. We greatly appreciate your patience with us as we are trying to work these problems out.
Joys and Concerns
Please be praying for David Helseth and family as they are grieving and working on arrangements to honor Kathy's life and legacy.
Continue to be praying for Cindy Lamb (Lizzy's Mom), who is recovering from an orbital fracture.
