Children took daily classes in folk dance from Peru, Egypt, India and North America by master teachers from California, Oregon and Washington. There were classes in drumming world rhythms and creating aspects of traditional dress.

Daily breakfast, lunch, and snack was provided, and included foods from the 4 world regions.

The week culminated with a Friday evening performance on July 1st for parents, guardians, family, and friends. The children performed the dances they learned during the week, wearing elements of traditional dress they created. There were performances by our master teachers, as well as the award-winning Peruvian Folk Dance group Tusuy Perua. Our set was designed by Portland instillation artist Amirra Malak. It was an amazing show!
