Movement, Meditation and Prayer Group
This group explores prayer or intention through movement and meditation. We begin with a guided meditation then move through a gentle, centering warm up before moving or dancing our prayers or intentions for ourselves, for others and for the community. Any level of movement can be practiced, from sitting in a chair to ecstatic dancing. You do not need to have any previous dance or movement experience to participate. You choose your level of movement.
Music and movement has been used for centuries to help to focus prayers and intentions. This group grew out of an alternative prayer workshop in 2019 at Englewood Christian Church and we have met in-person or on line since then. All faiths and religious orientations are welcome.
The group meets on Tuesdays from 10:00 am-11:00 am in the Fellowship Hall at Englewood Christian Church. People who would prefer to participate from home can join the Zoom broadcast of the live class. If you would like the Zoom link it can be sent to you through text message or email. (Please do not post the link on social media but feel free to share it with anyone who might be interested in participating).
